Hi, I’m Kevin. And I’m a creative leader.

Over the last three decades, I’ve built some of the most successful creative teams in the industry for some of the most iconic brands in the world. My team at LinkedIn was named the AdAge In-House Agency of the Year and made their Best Places to Work list two years running. My team at Apple was recognized by Cannes, The One Show, and D&AD. And I was named to Campaign’s 40 over 40 list.

My transformation from creative to creative leader wasn't easy. It turns out that there are a lot of books on how to be a creative. But nobody tells you what to do if you read those books, find success, and they put you in charge of other creatives. There’s no book on creative leadership.

So I wrote one.

The as-yet-to-be titled book (but coming soon!) is a step-by-step guide to leading creative teams. What a creative leader’s job is (helping their team be more successful) and what it’s not (telling people what to change about their work). How to have one to ones. What the heck a one to one is in the first place. How to build creative culture. How to hire the right people. How to give feedback in a way that teams will listen. And, most importantly, how to say thank you.

It’s written in natural, jargon-free language. It’s funny, and often irreverent. There may be some dad jokes. It’s a conversation with the reader, never a lecture.

It’s a management book that people will actually enjoy reading. It’s a management book I hope you will enjoy reading.

When I’m not writing about creative leadership (or making dad jokes), I’m up on my soapbox sharing my thoughts on the topic anywhere people will listen.

I’ve been featured on podcasts including Real Creative Leadership, The CMO Suite, and Ad Chatter. I’ve been interviewed by Adweek and Muse By Clio. I mentor fellow creatives, and am an advisor for Inside Out, a community for in-house agencies. I’ve been a guest lecturer at the American University of Paris. And I’ve spoken at Salesforce and The Savannah College of Art and Design.

If you’d like me to help light up your next event or your whole team, I’d love to hear from you.

Thank you for reading. I mean it.
